Our number one issue during the latest Arkansas Legislative Session was policing the natural gas industry regarding Hydrofracturing in the Fayetteville Shale and in turn, protecting Arkansas water.
There has been a lot of activity on this issue of late. Including our inclusion in this letter in support of the Fracturing Responsibility and Awareness of Chemicals Act (house) (senate).
Also, the Diane Rehm show has dedicated the last two days of programming to this issue.
The New York Times also published this list of recent water polluters in Arkansas.
This list will be quadrupled when the effects of gas drilling are realized. Unfortunately for us, there is very little expressed concern thus very little testing in Arkansas. Please call the Department of Health, ADEQ, your Representative or Senator and/or the Governor's office and express your concerns.
